Information
At Veroutas Ausritt, only Western saddles were available. Group sizes varied from one to six riders plus one or two guides.
During my ride, I was the only guest.
The stable offered a transfer service that picked guests up from their hotel.
Payment was made in cash after the ride. Alternatively, booking via Viator* was also possible.
Stable
In summer, the horses lived tied on halters in a meadow directly behind the guest area. Each horse had its own bucket of water and feed available. To ensure they didn’t have to stand in the sun all day, the staff brought them to the shaded tie stalls in the morning and afternoon.
In winter, the horses were kept at a different location, not directly at the starting point of the rides.
Arrival
Upon arrival, all horses were tied at the shaded tie stalls. Two of them were already saddled and bridled for the ride. Guests could borrow a riding helmet from the helmet room. A staff member led the horse to the mounting block to make mounting easier.

Trail Ride
The ride started directly from the farm. We crossed a busy road and on the other side immediately entered a narrow path leading straight toward the salt lake. At the lake, we turned right toward Tigaki. The first trot took place alongside the salt lake. After a few meters of trotting, we transitioned into a relaxed canter until we reached the dunes. Following a short walk break in the dunes, a brisk canter followed, just before reaching the beach. At the beach, where tourists were also walking, we rode toward Marmari, enjoying many trot stretches and calm canters. After the beautiful beach ride, we turned left into the dunes. Heading a bit toward Tigaki, we had another fast canter before turning right to get back to the salt lake. There we turned right again, with one last canter along the lake. At a walk, we returned to the beginning of the loop and followed the narrow path back to the farm. In total, the ride included about six minutes of cantering.
After the ride
Back at the stable, a staff member came to hold my horse while I dismounted. The horse scratched itself against him in the meantime :). Afterwards, he led it back to the shaded tie stalls.
As refreshment, I was given two 0.33 l bottles of water for free.
A transfer then brought me back to my accommodation.
Photos
At the beach, the guide paused to take pictures with my phone. On request, he also filmed a short canter video at the beach.
My Review
I really enjoyed this trail ride. It was a beautiful circular route that led along the salt lake, to the beach, and back along the salt lake again. The canters were great fun. At the salt lake, we even spotted flamingos.
