Loki

Loki - My Icelandic Horse

Loki isn’t just a horse – he’s Loki: unique, clever, a trickster, a master of illusion, a lover of the Northern Lights, and quietly seeking recognition.
He accompanies me here in Iceland and has become an important part of my life – both on the farm and during our trail rides through breathtaking nature.

His Story

Loki didn’t have an easy start. His former owner no longer wanted him and gave him to a friend who runs a riding tour business. But Loki didn’t fit in there – and suddenly the question arose: the slaughterhouse, just because he was different?

We couldn’t bear to let Loki go. My host and I found a solution together so that he could stay – and since then, Loki has been mine.

Life in Iceland

Frequently Asked Questions about Loki

I bought Loki for a fair price for Icelandic horses. Horses in Iceland are officially registered, and my Icelandic ID number is listed in the registry – which means Loki officially belongs to me.

For now, Loki will stay in Iceland. What the future holds for us and where our journey will take him, I can’t say yet.

Actually, I always said I didn’t want one, because I travel a lot and wouldn’t be able to do a horse justice. But I simply had to save Loki. Of course, as a child I dreamed of having my own horse – and now that dream has finally come true. I’m very grateful for that.

Fortunately, no! I’m allowed to use the existing equipment like saddles, bridles, and halters for Loki. Of course, if I ever need something specific, I can get it myself.
