Information
Picadero Fuente del Gallo 2 hour trail ride was specifically designed for experienced riders, including those who like riding stallions. Rides were conducted in groups with other riders, and payment was made in cash.
My ride took place on a Sunday, when the beach was too crowded to do a full beach ride.
Stable
The stallions were kept in large individual stalls. The stable was beautifully designed and decorated with lots of flowers. The indoor arena was covered and surrounded by bamboo for sun protection.
Arrival
Upon arrival, the horses were in their stalls. The owner brought out the horse for the ride. Guests arriving early could help with grooming. Riders mounted in front of the arena. The owner shared important information about the ride and the horse. During the ride, we were instructed to ride in a straight line. In the arena, riders walked in single file with four horse lengths apart until the owner was ready to start the ride.
My Trail Ride Diary
Your personal companion for your ride trips– with plenty of space for photos and notes!
Trail Ride
The ride started directly from the stable. Paths led along trails into the town of Conil. From Conil, we rode to the fields and cliffs. From the cliffs, we had beautiful views of the sea. We rode along sandy paths to a small cove. From there, we rode down to the cove and followed the shore near the water. At the water, we walked to the end of the cove, then rode back up to the cliffs. The trail continued through the forest, along a river, until we made a small loop and retraced our steps back to the stable. During the entire ride, we trotted three times in collected trot and cantered once in collected canter.
After the ride
The owner took the horse, secured it at the tie-up post, and took care of everything, including bathing the horse before returning it to its stall. Horse and rider were done for the day.
Photos
The owner scheduled five photo breaks: 1st In the cove at the beach, 2nd In the forest, 3rd by the river 4th and 5th. Shortly before the stable near the roses The photos were taken with the owner’s phone and all were sent via WhatsApp.
