Information
We had the privilege of taking a private Tunis Stable 5 h White Dessert ride with the owner Mohammed, who could accommodate all our wishes.
Guests could only pay in cash, with Euros, USD, or Egyptian Pounds.
Stable
The property is located on the outskirts of Tunis. Guests have rooms with private bathrooms nearby. Right next to the accommodation is the stable, where the horses stay on paddocks during the day and in stalls at night. The horses are very well cared for and their well-being is a priority.
Arrival
We met Mohammed at the agreed time by the horses. The staff held the horses during mounting and adjusted the stirrups. Once Mohammed was in the saddle, the ride began.

While riding, I wore the Royal Horsemen riding leggings – they were extremely comfortable and pleasant to wear.

Trail Ride
The ride started at the stable and led us to the left, with the picturesque village of Tunis on our right and vast green meadows on our left. After a relaxed ride straight ahead, we turned right and passed through Tunis before reaching the open dirt roads.
On the wide paths, we initially rode straight and occasionally added a trot. Then we turned left, shortly after right, and reached the first canter stretch, which we enjoyed at a calm, steady pace. After three sweeping curves, we followed another canter stretch along a small stream.
We crossed a busy road and re-entered the fields. After a left turn and subsequent right bend, we rode across the red stone desert, passing a fenced property. Then we passed another section with fields, enjoying the varied landscape—from green meadows to reed fields and bright yellow rapeseed fields.
Finally, we reached The White Desert, a fascinating landscape of fine, soft sand and smooth white stones. Here we mostly rode at a relaxed walk but could also choose between slow and fast canter sequences at any time.
Our path led directly to the Upper Wadi Al Rayyan Lake, where we took a well-deserved tea break overlooking the water. Afterwards, we continued our ride at a calm walk, while the dunes occasionally opened up the view of the lake.
One last time, we let the horses canter before finally riding leisurely to the White Desert Camp, our final destination.

After the ride
At the endpoint at the White Desert Camp, we tied up the horses and waited with tea and dinner for the horse transport and our transfer back to Tunis.
