Information

Guests could pay for the ride in cash, by card, or directly when booking online through the “Ranch Manippos” website. „Ranch Manippos“. Es handelte sich um Gruppenausritte mit fremden Gästen. Vor Ort konnten die Gäste kostenlos Helme ausleihen. Die Ausritte fanden in Westernsättel statt.

There was also the option to book a photo session with a professional camera during the ride. This extra must be booked one day in advance!

Stable

The horses were kept directly in the paddock behind the tie-up area. They had access to clean drinking water 24/7 and were well fed. The team paid close attention to the wellbeing of the horses.

Arrival

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the dogs and the team. We waited until all guests had arrived and could sit down on chairs in the shade. Once everyone was there, we gathered by a metal cabinet as instructed. There, we received a disposable hairnet for hygiene and a riding helmet. The team asked about riding experience and assigned the horses accordingly. Each rider mounted with the help of a mounting block, and the team adjusted the stirrups. Once everyone was seated, there was a briefing on how the horses are ridden here and what to keep in mind. The ride began, and as we set off, the team determined the riding order of the horses.

I wore the riding leggings from Royal Horsemen for this ride – especially comfortable in warm weather thanks to the mesh.

Trail Ride

The ride started directly from the ranch. We rode along the road next to the ranch towards the beach. When the fields began, we turned left and then immediately left again onto a narrow dirt path leading uphill. On the way up, we had to watch out for low-hanging tree branches. At the top, we turned right onto a narrow path and enjoyed the breathtaking view over the sea to the other peninsula.

We followed this path until we entered a forest. There, the trail led partly along the cliffs. We continued downhill, and at the end of the forest path, we turned left to ride uphill again. At the top, we reached a field and rode past beehives at a safe distance. On this section, we made a loop before turning right and riding downhill into the forest again. We turned right once more and came out of the woods.

Next came a stretch for trotting along a field path beside the forest. Shortly after, we rode downhill again and turned right, following the path until we turned left onto a track leading towards the sea. At the end of this track, we turned right and reached the beach. At a walk, we rode directly along the water, passing two piers. We circled around a palm tree and added a canter on the beach. At the pier, we took a short break before riding the horses into the sea for a swim, followed by a second canter on the beach. Just before the next pier, we slowed to a walk.

We turned left and rode a semicircle through a field. At the end, we once again rode directly into the sea with the horses. After coming back out, we enjoyed one last short canter along the beach before heading back to the ranch at a walk, with a small detour around a few trees.

After the ride

Back at the ranch, the team directed us to the tying area and secured the horses. Once all were tied up, we could dismount—either with the help of a chair or without. The team collected the helmets and handed out free 0.5 l bottles of water.

Photos

There was a photo break either directly at the beach or at the ranch. For the photos, the team positioned the horses facing the camera and took several pictures with the guests’ own phones.

My Review

I really enjoyed the ride. The horses were well cared for and everything was very relaxed. I also appreciated that a drink was included in the price.
