Information
By Viator* you can book and pay directly the Hurricane Hipica 2 h trail ride. The rides take place in a group with other guests and use a bitless bridle.
Tip: If you book in person, it’s recommended to confirm exactly how long the ride will last on your chosen day.
Stable
According to Hurricane Hipica’s website, information from “Pegasus Reiterreisen,” and a travel report published by “Pegasus Reiterreisen,” the horses live in a herd on a pasture. I did not see a pasture directly next to the stable during arrival or the ride. According to the owner, most of the herd was rescued from poor conditions.
Arrival
Upon arrival, the horses were already saddled and equipped with bitless bridles. Before mounting, we had to sign a form. The owner brought the horse to the mounting block so the guest could get on. She tightened the girth and held the horse steady. While adjusting the stirrups, she provided important information about the horse and riding in general. The owner assigned the order of the horses before we left the yard.

Trail Ride
The ride took us directly into the adjacent forest. After a short forest section, we reached the dunes. Through the dunes, we rode to the beach. At the beach, we started at a walk before transitioning to trot and canter. We cantered once right next to the sea. The beach was very wide, so we rode inland to a firm sand section, where we trotted and cantered again. At one point, we took a short break while the guide asked the group whether they preferred to continue along the beach or head into the mountains. The decision was for the mountains. Before the return, we cantered once more before riding back along the sea. Right next to the water, we trotted before returning to the dunes. To reach the mountains, we rode under a road bridge and passed through a gate, which the guide opened and closed. In the mountains, we rode across a farm where sheep, goats, horses, cattle, and pigs roamed freely. In the mountains, we cantered once. The ride continued to a water spot where the horses could drink before heading back to the stable. From the mountains, we had a beautiful view of the sea and all the way to Morocco. The guide took great care of the group throughout the ride and offered helpful tips.
After the ride
After returning to the yard, all riders dismounted. The guide haltered her horse and gradually took the horses from the guests.
Photos
There was a photo break at the beach. The guide took the pictures with her own phone and sent them to the owner, who then forwarded them via WhatsApp. Additional photos were available on request.
My Review
I really enjoyed the ride. I liked that the guide allowed guests to choose whether to ride only along the beach or also into the mountains. I also appreciated that the horses were ridden with a bitless bridle.
