Information
Centro Hipico Zahora 2 hour trail ride
Guests paid for the ride in cash after the tour.
The rides were conducted using a bitless bridle.
Due to my riding experience, I had the privilege of taking a private ride. My experienced guide could fully focus on my preferences.
Stable
The horses lived in herds and had open stables as their home.
Arrival
When we arrived, the horses were already waiting at the tie-up spots, with fresh straw laid out so they could eat. Guests had the option to groom their assigned horse themselves. Saddling and bridling were done by the staff. Once I was in the saddle, my guide mounted, and we set off directly from the yard.

Trail Ride
Our path led us straight into the adjacent forest. On both sides were fenced areas. The sandy paths allowed us to trot. My guide gave clear instructions on when to change gaits. We trotted until we reached a wide road. Turning left, we followed the path past fenced properties and houses. Through a roundabout, we finally entered the village of Zahora. Through Zahora, we rode until we reached the dunes and shortly after, the beach. There we rode straight into the water. Once we reached the firm sand, we were able to gallop for the first time. In total, we had four gallops on the beach. Since there were no fixed riding paths, we had to carefully ride past beachgoers. Twice we even rode a short stretch through the water. From the beach, we rode up a hill to the lighthouse and down the other side. We continued our ride along the beach until we turned into the dunes. Our path through the dunes and forest led to another road crossing. From there, we rode through another village before finally returning to the forest. In the forest, we walked leisurely until we reached the stable.
After the ride
Back at the stable, I bridled, saddled, and bathed my horse. The staff brought the horses back to their open stables.
Photos
On request, both photos and videos were possible. During the ride, impressive gallop videos and photos were taken.
My Review
I really enjoyed the ride. I liked that the rides were conducted with a bitless bridle. Riding past the lighthouse was something special. The gallops along the beach were great fun.
