Information
Riders could register for the Huifkarbedrijf Terpstra Terschelling 2-hour ride by email or phone. The ride was paid in cash at the time of registration.
Stable
The facility had a stable with stalls. Next to the stable were the paddocks, where the horses were grouped in different herd sizes.
Arrival
When riders arrived, the staff prepared the horses for the ride in the stalls. The horses were brought to the yard so that riders could mount without a mounting block. The staff adjusted the stirrups.

Trail Ride
The ride started directly from the stable. First, we rode through the village of Hoorn until we reached the dune trails. We continued through the dunes, which were full of grass. In the dunes, we trotted for the first time.
At the beach, we cantered along the dune side at a relaxed pace. The ride continued towards the sea (between the dunes and the water, the beach is up to one kilometer wide). At a leisurely walk, we rode along the water, and shortly afterward went into a canter. During the canter, the order of riders changed because some horses galloped faster. This stretch was quicker but still controlled. Galloping along the wide beach was beautiful and very fun. We then returned to a walk along the water before heading back into the dunes. On the way back, we either rode entirely at a walk or had a final trot. Through the village, we returned to the stable.
After the ride
Back at the stable, the staff unsaddled and unbridled the horses. Riders had the option to bring their horse back to the paddock, or the staff could do it for them.
Photos
There was a photo break on the beach. The rider handed her phone to the guide for the pictures.
My Review
I enjoyed the ride. The beach canter was a lot of fun. The horses were well cared for, and everyone had a great time.
